Introduction

Pakistan is one of those countries, wherein substantial portion of the population is illiterate and live below poverty line. About 65% population is living in rural areas and their livelihood depends mainly on agriculture or related occupations. Pakistan is one of those very few countries who have the richest soil for agriculture in the world, but still a large population of our farmers lives below poverty line. Poverty, illiteracy and non-availability of decent job opportunities compel the low income families to engage their young schoolaged children in labor work, either in the farming or some other un-skilled trades.
The progress of Pakistan in the basic education and literacy is dismal. Unfortunately, Pakistan is amongst those countries which are not likely to achieve Education For All goals and Millennium Development Goals by 2015. According to the Pakistan Social and Living Standard Measurement (PSLM) Survey of 2010-11, the overall literacy rate of age 10+ is 58% and the annual increase is only 1%, which means that we need some 32 years to achieve 100% literacy in the country, which is also not possible due to increase in population.
In order to tackle the challenge of meeting the socio economic needs of the people of Pakistan, there is a need to create a conducive atmosphere in the communities for the people to realize the importance of education, a just and culturally civilized society, and an environment of politically stabled country.
Secondly, gigantic size of illiterate population in Pakistan and barriers faced by them in accessing educational and decent employment opportunities necessitate a multi-pronged strategy to be adopted. In the absence of such an effort, illiterate population will continuously swell. As a result, Pakistan will continue to face problems like poverty, unemployment, extremism and violence in the society. Many stakeholders are playing their roles in up-scaling the developmental projects in Pakistan, but these projects may not accomplish the actual needs due to short term duration and limited scale. Henceforth, there is a need to empower communities so that they could make efforts to sustain developmental programmes by their own.
The core work-areas of IDEAS are: Health, Education, Livelihood, Human Rights and Gender Equality. Our basic theme is to adopt a community and address all issues of that specific community, which in result will empower the community to be sustainable to tackle the problems/ issues of their basic needs; Health, Education, Livelihood.

We will emphasize on agriculture and livestock with the help from Agriculture Universities and Agriculture Departments and will create innovative livelihood opportunities in Agriculture and livestock sector for local population in their own communities.
This will empower local population of communities to improve their economic condition as well as health conditions by improving their daily intake of locally produced and cheap high protein diets like poultry fisheries & dairy products.
We will create self-dependency by accelerating the momentum in local population of communities to be innovative and independent in solving local issues / problems by alternative means / sources instead of depending on government authorities and funds.

IDEAS, is a charitable, non-profit, non-commercial, non-political, non-sectarian organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860, via Registration No. RS/ICT/773 of 2013; and shall exclusively be an organization for the promotion of the fields of:
